About Running in Laikipia:
Expect to need a few days to get acclimatized to the higher altitude. The race will
be along unsealed roads and paths in the bush terrain of the lower Rift Valley. There will be areas of long hills, flat bush lands, and rolling countryside. As there is wildlife in the area, the course will be patrolled by experienced, military-trained scouts to track the animals and their movements to ensure you are completely safe.
There will be aid stops every 10km with fresh water and food supply. As such it will be important to bring a Camelpak to carry extra water and food. The aid stations will be staffed with English-speaking volunteers and medical staff. There will be motorcycles and cars traveling between the aid stations on the course to monitor each runner's progress.
