Things To Do Before You Set Sail:
Have you booked your flights to and from Kenya? We have recommended arrival times and air carriers to get you started.
Talk with your doctor to find it if you want to update your immunizations before coming to East Africa.
Most visiting nationals require a visa before/ upon entry into Kenya. In most cases, you can simply obtain a single or double entry visa upon arrival into Kenya but please check for your specific nationality. IMPORTANT: US$50 cash is required for a visa upon entry.
All international runners are required to bring Camelbaks with mandatory race items. Make sure you pack according, because there aren't any 7-11s in the bush!
Paperwork- Flights, Insurance & Waiver
Tell us about your flight details & return your race waiver (sign, scan and email - required before we can let you race). Click here to download the Participant Form & Waiver.
This race is a fundraiser for Maasai girls education. All proceeds and any additional sponsorship we raise will go directly towards supporting a girl through high-school in the local area of the race ($1,600 covers all 4 years). We've set up a handy fundraising page (register yourself here) that should make your fundraising easy!
For most of us (not counting the Maasai), running 42km or 75km in Kenya requires a good amount of advance training. There's some good resources and advice on www.ultramarathonrunning.com, but feel free to contact us any time with training questions (email: amazingmaasaiultra@gmail.com).
